There are ways you can significantly increase your chances of getting accepted into the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

I will mention some of them here:

1. Take Rigorous Courses

One thing students do in their high school is to shy away from challenging courses. Doing that may be sweet but when you begin to apply for universities, you will realize that you have not been yourself any good.

Note: Most universities in the United States will first look at your GPA when they are processing your admission application to any university in the US. So, you need to perform very well to have a better chance of admission.

The bitter truth is that a GPA of 2.5 is not enough when competing for admission at a good school like the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

2. Score well on the SAT and ACT standardized test

A higher GPA is good but if you can’t achieve the excellent grade you wish, a standardized test is another opportunity to try. During the test, ensure you score higher, even though standardized tests are not compulsory UNCW considers it  for admission.

3. Engage in Extracurricular Activities

The learning you do in the classroom may not be enough if you wish for more chances of getting selected by UNCW. The best activities to engage in are volunteering and Community service, Art and Creative clubs, Athletic activities, Leadership positions, and Part-time jobs.

4. Submit a Letter of Recommendation

Prepare for this letter by cultivating a meaningful relationship with your teachers, school management, or your extracurricular activity coach. Can you now see another reason to engage in other activities other than the normal classroom activities? It will benefit you immensely when looking for someone to write you a recommendation letter.

5. Write an outstanding Personal Statement

A personal statement will help tell University of North Carolina Wilmington admission officials who you are. It should contain proof of your excellent critical thinking skills, communication skills, your goals, and motivation.

Also, mention your big achievement and what you can contribute to the department you are applying for.

When done with all these things, your chances will increase. Finally you can have higher admission chances if you try the early decision as it has a higher Acceptance Rate of 75%.
