How long does it take to get MCAT results? Are you through with the test and you are feeling anxious about what your score may be? You won’t wait too long because the Medical College Admission Test result does not take many weeks before being released. 

After taking the MCAT, the one major thought is always: how well did I do in the test? Are my answers correct? Did I reach the minimum score for a top medical school? These and many other questions will fill your mind but I understand, it is normal.

How long does it take to get MCAT results?

After taking the Medical College Admission Test, it takes 30 to 35 days for the MCAT results to be released. So, students have to wait for about one month and some days depending on the other factors for their results to be out. Some will wish it were out immediately but this test is very important for both the student and medical schools, it will take one month, which is not even too much time to wait. 

Students who encounter any issues during the tests will have to reach out to AAMC, and this wait period is their opportunity to do so. Also, the body organizing this test will need to make investigations on any matter concerning the tests or any thing that happened.

How is the MCAT score calculated? 

The score is calculated with a unique but simple formula that makes it fair to all test participants. 

There are four sections of MCAT and they have different scores and it involves all the correct scores you have in the tests. The score for each of these four sections will now be converted into scaled-score. The score ranges from 118 to 132. So, If you have gotten all the correct answers in a section, you will have 132 and 118 for worst or zero correct score. Then the scaled-score will be added to give your main MCAT score. Students that answer everything correctly will have 528.

Your work as you wait for the result is to keep reading because if the score is not very good to secure you admission into a top medical school, you need to retake the MCAT.
