The primary goal of the MTN Y’ellopreneur Program is to empower female entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and resources to sustain and grow their businesses. It targets women who are passionate about self-employment and have been running their businesses for at least two years.
Target Audience
The initiative focuses on female entrepreneurs across Nigeria, especially those involved in sectors such as the circular economy, manufacturing, processing, agriculture, ICT/digital services, and waste management, with a preference for businesses that source raw materials locally.
Program Benefits
Participants of the Y’ellopreneur Program can expect to receive:
- Entrepreneurial skills training.
- Development and presentation of bankable business plans.
- Equipment loan support of up to N3 Million.
- Business advisory support services.
- A seamless loan repayment process.
Phase One Achievements
In its pilot phase launched in 2022, the program trained 4,711 female entrepreneurs and disbursed equipment loans worth over N94 Million to 50 participants. Successful repayment of the loan entitles the entrepreneurs to receive 25% of the loan value as grants.
Phase Two Execution
The second phase of the program will include:
- Training for 1,000 female entrepreneurs.
- Support for creating bankable business plans.
- Equipment loan support of up to N3 Million each for 150 female entrepreneurs.
- Ongoing business advisory support services.
