University of Wyoming Scholarship is proud to offer a grant to its students. Their first-year (Resident, Non-Resident, and International) and transfer student opportunities are based on the student’s academic achievements at the time of admission to the University of Wyoming.

Our continuing student opportunities may be based on a variety of qualifiers such as merit, financial need, or specific student population. Be sure to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for financial need-based awards in the following school year.

University of Wyoming Scholarships

1. UW Transfer Opportunities

The University of Wyoming wants transfer students to know that finalizing their four-year degree is within reach. We are proud to offer the following opportunities for transfer students. Please complete and submit this application to be considered for Fall 2023.
Amount

UW Transfer Commitment: A $1,000 financial pledge that benefits incoming resident students who transfer to the University of Wyoming. Requirements include:

  • An associate’s degree with more than 75 transfer hours
  • A minimum of a 3.4 Cumulative Transfer GPA (calculated using grades earned in credits taken at previous institutions)

Cowboy Transfer Commitment: A $4,000 financial pledge that benefits incoming resident students who transfer to the University of Wyoming from one of the seven Wyoming community colleges. Requirements include:

  • An associate’s degree with 75 transfer hours or less
  • A minimum of a 3.0 Cumulative Transfer GPA (calculated using grades earned in credits taken at previous institutions)

NON-RESIDENT TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES

UW Transfer Commitment: A $1,000 financial pledge that benefits incoming non-resident students who transfer to the University of Wyoming. Requirements include:

  • An associate’s degree
  • A minimum of a 3.4 Cumulative Transfer GPA (calculated using grades earned in credits taken at previous institutions)

2. Daniels Boundless Opportunity Scholarship

NOTE: This opportunity is accepting applications for the Academic Year 2023-2024 (Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters).

The fund shall be used to provide need-based scholarships to one or more of the following categories of non-traditional undergraduate students: 1) adult learners age 25 or older, 2) military veterans of any age or 3) female or ethnic minority students in UW’s ROTC program.

Amount

It is preferred that recipients be enrolled full-time and the average annual award is $2,000.

3. UWC Emergency Scholarship Fund

For UWC enrolled students who need one-time emergency funding for food, health care, or other needs. Must submit a written request with a budget to the UWC Associate Dean/Director.APPLY ALSO SCHOLARSHIPS IN USA

  • You are being considered for many other opportunities, which do not require an additional application. You may be matched and selected based on your student record. Please complete the General Application to be considered.
  • The number and amount of scholarship awards shown are for general information purposes only, and should not be considered a guarantee of what you will receive if selected. Actual award amounts vary based on students’ individual eligibility factors and funds available.
  • The description for individual scholarships must be met to qualify for consideration. If selected, you must remain qualified to disburse the scholarship to your account.
  • If you are asked to upload a resume, letter of support, or any other supporting documentation, please be aware that the system will not allow for punctuation (commas, apostrophes, and/or periods) to be used in the file name, for example, Johnson. Resume or Hayle’s Resume.

How to apply for University of Wyoming Scholarship

Complete the General Application and apply for a variety of scholarship opportunities by following the below steps:

  • Log into WyoScholarships
  • Click the “Sign In” button in the top right corner
  • Sign in with your UW Username and Password
    • If you are a first-time user, complete the general application questions when prompted and click “Finish and Submit” when you have completed them.
  • You can now view all our offered scholarships by going to Opportunities > Ours or Opportunities > Recommended, and from there you can click “Show Filters” to filter by your College or Department.
  • All of the scholarships for the selected college/department will display.
