If at least one of your parents is an employee of the University of Rochester, you may be eligible for dependent child tuition benefits. Since both the benefit and scholarship funds can help with the costs of tuition only, you may be eligible to receive a combination of tuition benefit and scholarship funds that can approach or match, but not exceed, the cost of tuition.
It is our policy that tuition benefits must be applied to your bill before merit scholarships. University of Rochester tuition benefits and scholarship funds cannot be applied to non-tuition-related expenses, e.g., housing and dining services.

How To Apply University of Rochester Merit Scholarship
To gain consideration for the scholarship, apply to the University of Rochester by submitting
- Common Application or the Coalition Application
- Secondary school transcript
- Also, official test scores
- Teacher recommendation (one required)
- School report/counselor recommendation
- Mid-year report (when available)
- Final transcript (when available)
- College transcript (if applicable)
- English language exam results OR English Proficiency Requirement Waiver Request
- International Financial Support Form (IFSF)
Scholarship Deadline
The deadline for University of Rochester merit scholarship is 5th January, 2024.
