MTN Foundation Scholarship: Overview

MTN Foundation Scholarship 2024, based on the Youth Development Cause, is a yearly award that aims to acknowledge and reward the best and high-performing students in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.

The MTN Foundation Scholarship seeks to support the best, full-time students from tertiary institutions (universities, colleges of education, and polytechnics ) in Nigeria.

MTN JAMB Scholarship 2024

This category of MTN Online scholarships began in 2020 and it is the latest expansion to the MTN Scholarships. Every year the top 10 candidates of UTME who scored the most as reported by JAMB, are automatically eligible for the top 10 UTME scholarship. The victorious candidates are given scholarships worth 200,000 naira from their 100 level to graduation if they keep to the needed grades. The MTN Top 10 UTME award is granted irrespective of the successful students’ choice of course of study or university – Public or Private in the nation.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students 2024

Its 10th year is focused on qualified 200-level blind students learning any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. 60 triumphant blind scholars are granted scholarships worth 200,000 naira yearly until graduation if they keep the needed grades.

Required Documents for MTN Scholarship 2024

All interested applicant’s details will be confirmed and shortlisted applicants will be asked for an inspection examination. They will be needed to come with 2 current passport photographs as well as the actual and photocopy of the following documents:

  • Student ID card
  • National ID card, Driver’s license, or International passport
  • Admission letter from Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and university of study
  • Admission letter for the Higher National Diploma (HND) programs (only for Polytechnic students)

Eligibility Requirements for MTN Scholarship 2024

A. Eligible Institution of Study

  • MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to Nigerian students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).

B. Eligible Course of Study

  • MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students studying Science & Technology related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
  • MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300 level Blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).

C. Eligible Level of Study

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):

  • The application is open to students who have completed their second semester 200 level examinations going to 300 level and students currently in their 300 level as we understand that the academic calendar in not aligned across all public tertiary institutions.

The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):

The application is open to 200 & 300 level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.

D. Cumulative Grade Point Average

The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):

  • STEM Students in Public Universities, and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
  • STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
  • Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):

  • Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
  • Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.

How to Apply for MTN Online Scholarship 2023/2024

All applicants need to remember that the MTN Scholarships 2023 application needs you to pass the 2 steps of the application.

In the first step, all applicants should have received the Username and Password

  1. From the Home Page Choose the Create Account option.
  2. Fill in your Name, E-mail, and password, and choose the Submit option.
