The Duck Tape brand of duct tape has a weird college scholarship called the Duct Tape Scholarship. Make prom outfits and accessories out of duct tape and enter a picture of them in an online contest to win a duck tape scholarship.
Deadline for Application: Every year, applications are open from March to May (exact dates vary). The 10 finalists will be posted online so that people can vote.
Wacky Duct Tape Scholarship Amount: The first prize is $10,000, and there are other prizes as well.

How Does Duct Tape Competition Work?
FIRST STEP: MAKE
Using Duck® Brand Duct Tape and/or Duck® Brand Crafting Tape, make your own prom clothes and wear them. Don’t forget to take a high-quality picture of the big event! See the rules for more information.
STEP #2 — SUBMIT
Fill out the entry form, where you’ll upload at least one photo of yourself in your Duck® prom wear and give more information. If you are under 18, don’t forget to get your parents’ permission for the photography release. After you send, you’ll get a confirmation email right in your inbox.
STEP #3 — VOTE

Wacky Duct Tape Scholarship Rules
- To qualify for Duct Tape Scholarship, you must be a legal resident and at least 14 years old. Partners can be of the same sex or of the opposite sex.
- You have to go to your high school prom and have a picture taken of you before, during, or after the prom wearing clothes you made out of duct tape.
- The costumes must be original, and they will be judged on how well they are made, how original they are, how they use color, how they use accessories, and how they use duct tape.
- Online voting will be able to be done on photos of the 10 finalist couples.
How much is the Stuck at Prom duct tape scholarship?
- Dress Runners-Up: Four Dress Category Runners Up will each win a $500 Cash Scholarship and Duck Brand Prize Pack worth $100.
- Dress Grand Prize: $10,000 will be awarded to the winner of the Dress Category.
- Tux Grand Prize: $10,000 will be awarded to the winner of the Tux Category.
- Tux Runners-Up: Four Tux Category Runners Up will each win a $500 Cash Scholarship and Duck Brand Prize Pack worth $100.
